Disability Access

AT&T Park is an accessible event space. Below is some general information available to help make your Commencement experience as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. If you need disability access assistance or have questions about ballpark accessibility, please do not hesitate to see any AT&T Park Guest Services member or SF State volunteer on Commencement Day.

Access Services for Graduates

Graduates with limited mobility, who use wheelchairs or scooters or who are unable to stand for more than 10 minutes who wish to participate in the processional may proceed to the front of the student lineup at the Marina Gate Entrance. Please arrive in your regalia no later than 5 p.m.

If you are not able to stand for long periods of time, you should also go directly to the entrance where a Guest Services member can provide you with seating until the processional begins.

Students with disabilities are welcome to have another member of their graduating class join them in the accessible seating area. For additional assistance or processional support on Commencement Day, please see a Guest Services member or SF State volunteer:

Real-Time Captioning

The entire Commencement Ceremony will be captioned and broadcast on the Jumbotron screen and monitors located around the park. The Jumbotron is visible from all areas of the park, but the most direct line of sight access is located behind third base in sections 121-124 and 221-224.

American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting

ASL interpreters for graduates will be available in front of section 128.

Accessible Gate Entrances for Guests

AT&T Park has three entrances that are accessible via elevator for guests using wheelchairs or guests with low-mobility. The entrances are:

  • Lefty O’Doul Gate: This entrance on Third Street is closest to the passenger drop-off zone and is recommended for guests who are unable to walk long distances or will be taking the parking shuttle from Parking Lot A. The ballpark shuttle is accessible to wheelchair users. Note that the elevator at the Lefty O’Doul Gate goes to the Lower Box Level guest seating only. For more information about ballpark transportation, please visit sanfrancisco.giants.mlb.com/sf/ballpark/sf_ballpark_directions.jsp
  • Willie Mays Plaza Suite Entrance Gate: This entrance is on King Street and is recommended for wheelchair users and guests arriving by public transportation.
  • Second & King Street Gate: This entrance is on Second Street and is recommended for guests coming from the taxi drop-off zone across from the ballpark.

Wheelchairs and other mobility devices

Wheelchairs and other mobility devices will not be provided. A very limited number of on-site wheelchairs will be available for transport within the ballpark. An AT&T Guest Services member will transport your guest to an accessible seat. We strongly recommend that if your guest has difficulty standing for more than 15 minutes or walking one to three city blocks that you consider bringing or renting a wheelchair on the day of the event. A list of local rental agencies can be found on the Local Wheelchair Rental Agencies page.

Ballpark Seating

Ballpark seating is located in both open and covered areas. Guests may bring a seat cushion into the event for comfort. For attendees who prefer a larger seat, freestanding folding chairs are available upon request from any AT&T Guest Services member.

Blind/Low Vision Orientation Services

Guests who need assistance to seating or in locating Ballpark amenities may contact any Guest Services member at the entrance gates or inside the ballpark.

Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs)

ALDs will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at the Guest Services office located on the Promenade Level behind section 119. The ALDs work from anywhere in the ballpark.
