Items at the San Francisco State University Bookstore:
- A limited amount of regalia will be available for rental from the Bookstore starting Monday, May 13 until May 24 or supplies run out.
- Honor cords will be available beginning April 15 (Proof of eligibility needed to confirm orders or purchase in-store)

Jostens Regalia Orders
Regalia orders placed online from Jostens by 9:59 p.m. Friday, April 12 will arrive in time for the Commencement ceremony. Regalia rented online will come with a paid return label to make sending your regalia back to Jostens easy. Please hang on to your shipping box to mail back your regalia.

- Bachelor Rental Package (includes cap, gown and tassel): $45
- Masters Rental Package (includes cap, gown, tassel and hood): $80
- Stoles will range in price: $22-$40
- Specialty tassels (bling and campus seal charm): $7 and $9
- The Stolebuilder "design your own stole": starts at $49
- Grad Packs are available. Order your regalia, stole and diploma frame and you will receive 20% off the diploma frame
Gown and Hood Returns
The cap, tassel and stole are yours to keep!
Please return your rental gown (Bachelors and Masters) and rental hood (Masters Only) one of two ways:
- If you ordered online use the provided return label located in your regalia package. Drop off your regalia at any UPS location by May 31, 2024
- Drop off at the SF State Bookstore beginning Saturday, May 25. The bookstore will be closed Sunday, May 26 and Monday, May 27 in observance of Memorial Day, but will be open Tuesday-Friday, May 28-31. You have until May 31 to return your gown to the bookstore
All gowns and hoods are barcoded and will be inventoried at the time of return. If items are not returned, they will be considered lost, and you will be charged according to the prices listed below:
- Bachelors gown non-return fee: $250
- Masters gown non-return fee: $275
- Masters hood non-return Fee: $125

When can I expect my order?
Cap and gown orders typically ship within five weeks from the time you ordered. Place online orders by April 5 to be sure it will arrive by May 24. You will receive an order information email along with a link for tracking.
What if I miss the online order deadline?
The SF State Bookstore will have a very limited stock of regalia to rent. To ensure having regalia, please plan to order in advance.
Guest Tickets
Renting regalia through the Jostens website or through the SF State Bookstore will qualify you to receive up seven (7) Commencement tickets. Tickets will be available for pick-up at the SF State Bookstore beginning May 13, 2024.
You can have someone else pick-up your tickets or regalia if needed. Have them bring a copy of your student ID and regalia order confirmation to the SF State Bookstore ticket pick-up and let the staff there know you are picking up on a graduating student’s behalf.
Graduates do not need a ticket to enter as long as you are wearing SF State regalia. All guests need a ticket with the exception of children younger than two years old.
